New

NEW!! Circles is here! Plus a few sneaky extras

We have launched a brand new Circles feature in Plannr! Let’s dive in.

Circles

Circles is a new way to work with groups of clients, whether that’s a couple, a family or even every client of yours that loves golf; it’s up to you!

Circles brings with it a much more consistent way of viewing all the records that belong to each member of the circle; you will see your client information automatically aggregated into one screen so if you want to look at all the plans within the Thompson family, you can. If you want to check out all the contact details for Mr and Mrs Smith, you can! No more clicking between three different client screens to see it all, we show it all on one screen now.

This also brings a number of other benefits too including allowing you to set the individuals who own a joint mortgage and even setting the percentage ownership figures of a joint property, too.

We’ve introduced various other parts where you can link a record to multiple individuals, like contact details. Now you can load one address in for a couple, and it correctly links to the two individuals so that if you’re viewing Mr Jones’ record in Plannr, it’ll still show the joint address on his individual record.

When saving records you have a new “selector” where you can pick individual clients or a circle in bulk. This is especially useful if you’re creating a case for a circle as it’ll shortcut the process of adding every member of a circle to it. Where possible, we even automagically suggest the owners of a record so if you’re viewing a circle and go to add a case, the members of that circle will automatically appear in the list for you.

Check out our guide to creating a circle to get you started!

Joint accounts (and their future)

By building Circles we’ve sort of removed the necessity for our older “joint client” record. You will now see in Plannr we have automatically created a circle for you for every joint client you have in your Plannr instance. When you navigate to view a joint client we’ll warn you that we think you should work within the circle and we show you a button to quickly jump over to the circle, too.

Eventually, we’ll disable join clients altogether in Plannr, but for now we’ve kept the records there so that you can be sure that everything’s appearing under a circle as it should. We’ll give you plenty of warning when we plan to do that but for now we’ll display the warning above if you’re working within a joint client record. In theory, you shouldn’t need to do anything within the joint client now as there is 100% parity between a circle and the joint client record.

A refreshed page header for clients

As Plannr has grown and grown in terms of functionality there are a few parts of the user interface that we felt could do with a refresh and one of these is the top banner when viewing an individual client. Previously this was a bit cluttered and some of the information we were always showing wasn’t necessarily required to be visible all the time. So, we went back to our designer and asked really nicely if they could give the top banner a bit of a tidy up. They came back with the following (and we’ve highlighted the changes):

We’ve introduced a few new things here. First up, there’s a new icon next to the client’s name. This indicates whether or not the user has access to the portal (something people have wanted for ages!). The second new addition is the “show details / hide details” button. When clicked this will expand a hidden panel that will show you tags + groups along with the date / time when the client last accessed the portal. Again, this was another feature you’ve asked for so we’re excited to share that it’s here!

Totalled transaction amounts

This is another thing you’ve been asking for; sub totals when viewing transactions! Checkout the screenshot below:

When viewing transactions, there’s a new total shown in the bottom right.

More info when deleting a client

Previously when you deleted a client the system didn’t warn you of the impact of your actions but now we’ve introduced a little feature that will show you how far-reaching your deletion request is. Check out the screenshot below:

Now there’s no missing the impact that deletion will have!

I think that’s it for today’s rollout - enjoy having a look around all the improvements we’ve made and let us know what you think! As always if you have any questions we’re available on Plannr’s Live Chat from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm UK time.
