Make the "Opened at" field NON-mandatory for prior plans

Please can you make this field non-mandatory for plans that weren't sold by my company? My client doesn't know the information, and isn't required to enter it in the Factfind, but I am required to make up a date to save the visibility permissions so he can see it in the Joint record.
