I struggle with this and clients continually fail to record their home accurately in the Fact Find section. From ‘Add new plan’ section you select ‘Fixed Asset’. This gives you a dropdown which includes: ‘Property’ ‘Property (Btl)’ ‘ Property (Investment)’ ‘ Property (Other)’ ‘Property (Overseas)’ ‘Property (Rental)’ Forgive me, but what about ‘Propery (Home)’ That is going to be the most common property fixed asset and yet it isn’t shown. Likewise, its the only one that is CGT free on disposal.
Beyond that, all the other non-necessary fields should be greyed out: ‘Plan Provider’ ‘Parent Wrap’ ‘Held within a wrap’ ‘ Plan Status’ ‘Adviser who sold’ ‘Active adviser’ ‘ Adviser for contract enquiry’. There is no relevance to a plan for your or a client’s ‘Home’.
